Editorial Policy
K-Beauty Verdict publishes reviews, comparisons, roundups, and educational guides about Korean skincare and beauty products. This policy explains how we approach our editorial work, where our information comes from, and what standards guide our recommendations. We believe readers make better decisions when they understand how content is produced, so we’ve tried to be as transparent as possible here.
Editorial Independence
Our coverage decisions are made by our editorial team based on what we think is useful and relevant to readers interested in K-beauty. Brands and manufacturers do not pay for placement, favorable coverage, or specific rankings in our roundups and reviews. If we ever accept free products for consideration (see the section below on gifts and samples), that does not guarantee a positive review, a review at all, or any particular outcome.
We aim to write the kind of guides and reviews we’d want to read ourselves: straightforward about what a product does well, honest about its limitations, and clear about what we actually know versus what we’re inferring.
How Topics and Products Are Selected
We choose topics based on a mix of factors, including reader interest, trends in the K-beauty market, ingredient categories worth explaining, and gaps we notice in existing English-language coverage of Korean skincare. Products featured in roundups or comparisons may be selected because they’re popular, widely available, representative of a particular category or ingredient, or notable for some other editorial reason.
Inclusion in an article is not an endorsement of every claim a brand makes about its own product, and exclusion from an article does not imply criticism.
Evidence and Source Quality
We try to ground our content in the best information reasonably available to us. Depending on the topic, this may include published ingredient research, brand-provided product information, formulation trends, publicly available regulatory information, and general dermatological consensus about how certain ingredients typically behave.
We do not claim to conduct our own laboratory testing, clinical trials, or independent chemical analysis of products. When we describe how an ingredient works or what a category of product is generally understood to do, we’re relying on existing, publicly available knowledge rather than original research conducted by K-Beauty Verdict.
Where evidence is limited, mixed, or mostly anecdotal, we try to say so rather than presenting uncertain claims as settled fact.
Product and Ingredient Claims
Not every product discussed on this site has been physically tested by our team. Many of our reviews and roundups are informed by ingredient analysis, formulation research, brand documentation, and broader knowledge of how similar products in a category tend to perform, rather than hands-on, long-term personal use of each individual item.
When we do describe firsthand impressions or experience with a product, we aim to be clear about that. When we’re discussing a product based on its formulation, ingredient list, or general category behavior rather than direct use, we try to frame it that way instead of implying testing that didn’t happen.
We avoid repeating marketing claims as fact. If a brand states that a product “brightens skin in 7 days” or produces some other specific outcome, we treat that as the brand’s claim, not as something K-Beauty Verdict has verified.
How Reviews and Recommendations Are Framed
Our reviews and “best of” roundups reflect editorial judgment based on the information available to us at the time of writing: ingredients, formulation, brand reputation, pricing, category positioning, and general suitability for different skin types or concerns. They are opinions and analysis, not guarantees of individual results.
Skincare and beauty products can perform very differently from person to person, depending on skin type, sensitivity, climate, routine, and countless other factors. A product we describe favorably may not work the same way for every reader, and a product we’re more critical of may still suit some readers well. We try to note these kinds of caveats where relevant, especially for actives and treatment products.
Editorial Opinion vs. Medical Advice
Content on K-Beauty Verdict is intended for general informational and educational purposes. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for consultation with a dermatologist, physician, or other qualified healthcare provider.
We may discuss ingredients in the context of common skin concerns — for example, how a particular acid is generally understood to affect texture, or how certain ingredients are typically approached for sensitive skin. This is general education, not a diagnosis or a personalized treatment recommendation. Readers with specific skin conditions, allergies, sensitivities, or medical concerns should consult a qualified professional before starting new products or ingredients, particularly active ingredients like retinoids, exfoliating acids, or anything used alongside prescription treatments.
Corrections and Updates
Skincare formulations, ingredient lists, availability, and pricing change over time, and we may occasionally make mistakes despite our best efforts. When we become aware of an error or an outdated claim, we aim to correct it in a reasonable timeframe.
Substantive corrections — such as a factual error about an ingredient, a mischaracterized claim, or outdated formulation information — will generally be noted within the article. Minor updates, such as refreshing product availability or adjusting for a reformulation, may be made without a separate notice, since these are treated as routine maintenance rather than corrections to a factual error.

Affiliate Relationships
K-Beauty Verdict may use affiliate links in some articles, which means we could earn a commission if a reader clicks through and makes a purchase, at no additional cost to the reader. Whether or not a specific article contains affiliate links, our editorial judgment about what to feature and how to describe it is not for sale, and affiliate relationships do not determine which products we choose to cover or how favorably we write about them.

Gifts, Samples, and Brand Contact
Brands and PR representatives are welcome to contact us at hello@kbeautyverdict.com. If K-Beauty Verdict accepts complimentary products or samples for editorial consideration now or in the future, that will not guarantee inclusion in an article, a favorable review, or any specific coverage. Our goal is to keep the line between “a brand sent us something to look at” and “we recommend this product” clearly separate, regardless of how a product came into our hands.
Use of AI Tools in Our Workflow
We may use AI-assisted tools as part of our editorial process — for example, to help organize research, draft initial outlines, assist with translation or localization for non-English editions, or support editing and proofreading. These tools are used to support our workflow, not to replace editorial judgment.
Final published content is reviewed with an eye toward accuracy, usefulness, and adherence to the standards described in this policy before it goes live. If we identify content that doesn’t meet those standards, we update or correct it.
Conflicts of Interest
We aim to disclose relevant conflicts of interest where they exist — such as affiliate relationships or complimentary products — rather than let them go unmentioned. If a personal or business relationship could reasonably affect our objectivity on a specific topic, we’ll either disclose it in the relevant article or decline to cover that topic.
This policy may be updated periodically as our editorial practices evolve. If you have questions about anything in it, contact us at hello@kbeautyverdict.com.
